Rudy

imageToday, Rudy the Duck has beat the odds stacked heavily against him. Second chances in life are a beautiful thing. This photo was taken moments after Rudy was discharged from the UC Davis small animal hospital.

Nearly four months ago, Rudy was hit by a speeding vehicle in Alameda. Suffering from a multitude of injuries, he narrowly escaped euthanasia to find sanctuary with us. Then, he endured a delicate surgery at UC Davis to implant pins into his broken leg. To aid in rebuilding his little leg, the pins stayed in place since late August. It’s been a long haul. Today, all the pins were removed from Rudy’s leg. This is a milestone for Rudy and our work as a whole.

Thank you for making Rudy’s life a meaningful one!
